About this experience
Gadaladeniya Temple
Gadaladeniya Viharaya was built in 1344 during the Gampola period, in a distinctive stone-carved Dravidian style rare in Sri Lanka. It was one of the first Buddhist monuments on the island to integrate Hindu deities into its imagery — a hallmark of the Gampola kings' cultural bridge-building.
