About this experience

Kalpitiya Dutch Fort

Built by the Dutch in 1667 on the site of an earlier Portuguese stockade, Kalpitiya Fort is one of the smallest but best-preserved colonial forts on the island. Its coral-stone ramparts guard the entrance to the Puttalam lagoon.
