Ma Oya river bath
Twice a day (roughly 10 am–noon and 2 pm–4 pm), the whole herd is walked down the village road to the Ma Oya river for a lengthy bath. It's the highlight of any visit — dozens of elephants splashing, submerging and playing in the water, watched from restaurant terraces along the riverbank.
