Full Itinerary

1. Step 01

   Day 1 — Airport Arrival → Sigiriya or Negombo

   Depending on your flight arrival time: morning arrivals transfer directly from the airport to Sigiriya, en route visiting Dambulla Cave Temple (UNESCO) and an afternoon climb of the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Evening arrivals overnight in Negombo and continue inland the next day.

2. Step 02

   Day 2 — Around Sigiriya

   After breakfast, optional visit to the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa (entrance ticket not included). Afternoon authentic Sri Lankan village tour, followed by an exciting elephant safari in Minneriya National Park where large gatherings of wild elephants can be witnessed in their natural habitat. Overnight near Sigiriya — Sigiriya Jungle Resort or similar.

3. Step 03

   Day 3 — Sigiriya → Kandy

   Drive to Kandy en route visiting a Matale spice garden — learn about nutmeg, pepper, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom. In Kandy visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Upper Lake drive and Kandy Market. Evening Kandyan cultural dance performance. Overnight — Golden Crown or similar.

4. Step 04

   Day 4 — Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Ella

   Drive to Ella via Nuwara Eliya, Gampola and Ramboda, passing tea plantations, factories, tea pluckers and waterfalls. See the English-style houses and gardens of Nuwara Eliya, then board the iconic scenic train (2nd class unreserved) from Nanu Oya to Ella through stunning tea country. Overnight — Morning Dew or similar.

5. Step 05

   Day 5 — Ella

   Morning hike up Little Adam's Peak, visit the Nine Arch Bridge to catch the train crossing. Evening at leisure in Ella. Overnight — Morning Dew or similar.

6. Step 06

   Day 6 — Ella → Yala

   After breakfast drive to Yala National Park, stopping at Ravana Falls en route. Thrilling half-day jeep safari in search of leopards and elephants. Overnight — Chaarya Resort or similar.

7. Step 07

   Day 7 — Yala → Airport

   Optional early morning whale watching boat tour in Mirissa (tickets not included). Depending on flight time, visit Galle Fort before the transfer to the airport for departure.
