Lovamahapaya (Brazen Palace)
The Lovamahapaya once rose nine storeys high and housed 1,000 monks under a copper-and-bronze roof — the origin of its name, 'Brazen Palace'. Today, a striking forest of 1,600 granite columns marks its footprint next to the Sri Maha Bodhi.
