About Badulla

One of Sri Lanka's oldest towns and the capital of Uva Province, Badulla lies at the south-easterly edge of the hill country and marks the end of the great colonial railway line from Colombo. In British times it was a vital hub for shipping plantation crops to the capital. Today it's a gateway to some of the island's most spectacular waterfalls, the ancient Muthiyangana temple and the misty trails of the Namunukula range.
